Mission Statement

The Public Education Division is a dedicated team devoted to protecting Life and Property through proactive education and community engagement. We provide accessible, evidence-based fire and life safety programs that promote personal responsibility, preparedness, and resilience. Through partnerships and innovation, we work to prevent emergencies and strengthen the connection between the Fire Department and the Community.

About

The Public Education Division provides Fire Safety programs to residents of ALL ages and backgrounds through Community Outreach Events and Fire Safety Presentations. Two of our main programs are the SAFE (Student Awareness of Fire Education) and Senior SAFE programs, both programs are funded through State Grants.

About

The Student Awareness of Fire Education (SAFE) program is a state grant-funded initiative designed specifically for school-aged children. The Acton Fire Department strives to deliver comprehensive fire and life safety lessons to young residents of Acton through proactive community outreach. 

Some of the community outreach programs offered under SAFE include:

  • Classroom Visits 
  • School Sponsored Job Fairs 
  • Touch-A-Truck Events 
  • Fire Station Tours 
  • Fire Station Open House
